Mollie & Douglas picked the beautiful Reflection Bay golf course for their wedding. They couldn’t pick a more perfect location for their celebration of their LOVE.
Palm trees all around, sandy beach and pristine golf course set a a beautiful stage for their outdoor weddings at Reflection Bay Golf Club. Wind was blowing in their special day, but during the ceremony it seemed that the weather just wanted to cooperate and become calm, so we can have a beautiful outdoor ceremony by the lake.
Mollie & Douglas included a couple of Scottish traditions to their Nautical themed wedding, like roping their hands during the ceremony, the loving cup ceremony and they also had two cakes; a traditional wedding cake by Las Vegas costume cakes an a Scottish wedding fruitcake with marzipan, prepared by Douglas’s aunt.
During the loving cup ceremony the bride and the groom was taking a sip in the same time from a beautiful cup. The use of the quaich or traditional Scottish two handled drinking cup (Loving Cup) at a wedding is an ancient tradition.
Drinking from the same cup is a beautiful symbol of the love and trust between the couple. Because it is traditionally ‘the cup of welcome’, drinking from it can also be seen as a way of welcoming the bride and groom into each others’ family.
Their first dance was very special as well, starting out as a regular slow dance, than a couple of minutes later became a fun dance. The beautiful lighthouse centerpieces set the mood for a great party, where the dance floor was full, thanks to Harry from Harry O Productions.
Brae Jorgensen, Event Director from Reflection Bay Golf Course made sure that everything is happening smoothly during Mollie & Douglas’s wedding.
