Grove Las Vegas wedding {Jessica & Alex}

Jessica and Alex got married on a beautiful July afternoon at the Grove Las Vegas. Their perfect day didn’t start all sunny. It was heavily raining in the morning, than all cleared out for the afternoon. The rainy weather created some nice clouds and a beautiful rainbow.

After the first look we created some images with Jessica & Alex, than their wedding party before we headed to their ceremony what was held at the Almond Orchard at The Grove.

After the ceremony we captured some nice photos with family and the couple around the twilight hours, than we headed to their fun reception.

So many moments were captured from the first dance, toasts, garter and bouquet toss, traditional money dance and a special sparkle grand exit.

Springs Preserve Romantic Garden themed Wedding {Koral & Jacob}

Jacob and Koral met on February 20th 2016 at a jujitsu tournament in Las Vegas, Nevada. Jacob was there to coach, and Koral was there to watch. Koral had no idea that Jacob had seen her at the jujitsu gym for several months and had wanted to talk to her. He was thrilled to finally have an opportunity. They hit it off very quickly at the tournament, but unfortunately, they got split up during that day somehow, and it was then that Jacob had to go. Right when Koral was realizing that he seemed to like her and was also realizing that he was pretty cute, she realized he was gone. This left her with some confusion as she thought, “Why wouldn’t he say goodbye?” She then thought that there must have been no connection after all, and he probably really didn’t like her.

She would soon find out that Jacob, that night, searched her on Facebook and added her. Koral didn’t see it until the next day, but when she did, she smiled to herself when she saw his profile picture. At the moment when they added each other on Facebook, they realized that they were from the same hometown of Kingman Arizona, a small town 100 miles away from Las Vegas! Quickly after accepting his friend request, Koral messaged Jacob to ask if he was really from Kingman. Jacob remembered that they even had a choir class together ten years prior during her freshman year and his junior year of high school. They never spoke, but even at that young age, Jacob had remembered seeing her in class and thinking she was pretty.

There was not a day that went by after the tournament when they didn’t speak. A few days later, they had their first official date at Skinny Fats, and Jacob asked Koral to be his girlfriend. On November 22nd, 2016, Jacob proposed to Koral in front of a waterfall, near his mom’s house in Oregon and of course she said yes!

If you have been following our blog for a little bit, you might remember Koral & Jacob’s amazing engagement session in the snow storm at Mt Charleston.

Koral & Jacob’s wedding was outdoors at The Springs Preserve gardens, in July at 110 degree heat! They guys were such a troopers in both extreme weather conditions.

We did a first look with Koral and his dad and Jacob and Koral before the ceremony and pictures of the couple and their wedding party.

The wedding ceremony was at the Botanical Garden. Koral’s grandfather married the couple. A little boy and little girl came in front of Koral and his dad carrying a sign: “Here comes the bride” Their cousin was playing the guitar and a friend was singing while the couple tied the unity knot.

After the ceremony friends and family headed to the Divine Cafe for cocktails while we were taking family pictures, than we joined hundred and fifty of their guests to start the party.

Flamingo Hotel Las Vegas wedding ceremony and Linq Wheelhouse Wedding reception {Sadie & Andrew}

Traveling all the way from Kansas, Sadie & Andrew choose the Flamingo Hotel Las Vegas to exchange wedding vows and tie the knot!

As Sadie was getting ready, her sister and mom was assisting her in the process.

Wedding ceremony at the Gazebo Chapel

The setting for Sadie & Andrew’s wedding was the peaceful, romantic Gazebo Chapel at Flamingo Hotel Las Vegas! The ivy covered gazebo, surrounded by palm trees created a private place for their special day.

Picturesque waterfalls, peaceful pond, palm trees and lush greenery provided the perfect backdrop for their photos.

Kris Labuda, Chapel manager was helping them with the planning, making sure that their wedding is going flowless on their special day.

As many of the big hotel, Flamingo Hotel has their own in-house photographers, but they allow outside vendors for a reasonable fee.

Linq at the Wheelhouse cocktail hour and Reception

Until we took the couple around the Flamingo grounds to capture photos, in the meantime the guests were enjoying cocktails and appetizers.

They hosted their guests at the Wheelhouse at the Linq for cocktail hour and reception.

What a unique venue! As you look out the windows you can see High Roller observation wheel, with its 550 feet high right by you, which is the tallest wheel on the planet.

Jodie and her crew from Sight and Sound events provided a fabulous experience for the guests as their DJ and MC for the evening and also for me as a photographer to create opportunities to capture great images during the reception.

Cili at Bali Hai Las Vegas Wedding {Valerie & Dylan}

Traditional Romanian Orthodox Church Wedding in Las Vegas {Anamaria & Ion}- Part 2. Photo session at Lake Las Vegas and the party

After the Traditional Romanian Orthodox Church Wedding ceremony we went for a Photo session to Lake Las Vegas, than back to the church to the party.

During the party there were certain happenings, like the first dance of the newlyweds, father-daughter, mother-son dances, garter toss and a special cake cutting with fireworks, which is usual in the United States and special traditional happenings, like kidnepping odf the bride, and the godmother replacing the veil with a head scarf, as well.

The bride, the Godmother and the ladies that were at the party got together in a traditional dance (hora).

Also well-known known tradition in our country and in Romania as well kidnapping of the bride. During the party the bride got “stolen” by the couple Ion was the ring bearer on their wedding as a little boy.Then the godfather had to pay a ransom – whatever the ‘kidnappers’ asked for.

Before we let, what wasn’t the end of the celebration yet, the bride, groom and their two soon to be friends sit down in a chair and the Godmother took the bride’s veil off and replaced it with a head scarf. The gesture symbolizes the transfer from a girl to a married woman who will take care of the household and future children

Than the godmother put the scarf on her unmarried friend and the dance began again in a circle.

Traditional Romanian Orthodox Church Wedding in Las Vegas {Anamaria & Ion}- Part 1. Getting ready & ceremony

Anamaria & Ion envisioned a traditional Romanian wedding. The nuptials took place at the first Romanian church in Las Vegas, Nevada, “Saint George and Saint Dimitri the New” Romanian Orthodox Church.

We started out with getting ready images with Anamaria and the girls. The godparents arrived at the bride’s house when her hair and make up was getting done, the godmother helped her to get dressed (together with the bridesmaids) and she put the veil on the bride’s head.

In the meantime Zoltan was taking images of the guys getting ready.

Than Ion, the groom with the guys, a violin player and a ceremony master came over to the house where Anamaria was getting ready to ask for her hand in marriage and take her to the church to get married in front of God. But before that, the groomsman gave the bouquets to the bridesmaids and the couple pinned the boutonnieres on the guys.

Afterwards, right before leaving for the church, the godmother hold and broke a traditional bridal cake (sweet bread) over the Anamaria’s head, and through the 4 pieces to four different directions to the guest to eat.

Romanian Orthodox Church Traditional Wedding Ceremony

After that from the house everybody headed to the traditional religious ceremony what was held at the Romanian Orthodox Church.

The traditional wedding service in the Romanian Orthodox faith is an ancient and gorgeous ceremony that’s continued unchanged for centuries. It’s also a ceremony full of symbolism.
This Ceremony consists of several key parts. The godparents played very important role in Anamaria & Ion wedding. They had several traditional roles during the wedding ceremony and also at the party.

During the religious ceremony in the church the priest was reading prayers from the Bible in chanting voices.

The godmother and godfather stand by the couple, holding tall lit candles, decorated with flowers the second part of their ceremony. The burning flames of the candles symbolize the couple’s spiritual willingness to receive God’s blessings.

The Crowning is the centerpiece of the Eastern Orthodox marriage ceremony. The priest and godparents placed the crowns on the couple’s heads while they face the altar.

The groom and the bride are crowned as the king and queen of their own little kingdom, their newly created family

Than the couple received ladyfingers to eat it symbolically and then took three sips of wine from a shared cup. The cup represents life and symbolizes the couple’s mutual sharing of joy and sorrow. As they drink wine from the common cup, they were reminded that from that moment they will share everything equally.

In the final part of the wedding ceremony, the priest took the godfather by hand (with the candle), followed by the groom, the bride, the godmother with the other candle and walked around the middle church table three times, where the bible rested.

In this act, the couple takes their first steps as a married couple, with the Church (through the priest) leading them.
